The role  Mō te tūnga

We are seeking a Senior Analyst Developer with generalist software development skills to join our DevOps team in the Analytics service line of Digital Business Services. As part of the team you will  work with other developers, experience assurance engineers, and systems engineers.

As the Senior Analyst Developer you will have expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Hadoop, or similar Big Data based fram
  • Some previous coding expertise in Blaise 4.8, Delphi/Pascal and/or Python would be a bonus.
  • eworks
  • SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS programming
  • Java-based programming, e.g., Java, Scala, Spark
  • R – programming language, and operating environments

Within the role you will be able to:

  •  Engage with our business to understand their needs and requirements
  • Contribute to the improvement of team processes and performance
  • Carry out solution analysis and design work
  • Develop, debug, document, deploy, and properly manage the quality of, programs and systems, on time and to budget
  • Undertake organisational security monitoring and reporting
  • Provide support and ongoing optimisation of solutions already in production

In addition ideally you will have several years of relevant software development experience and will be able to:

  • Lead others in delivering successful outcomes for the team from their activities.
  • Participate in the creation of roadmaps for our digital solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and peer review, other members of the team and their work.
  • Answer technical and procedural questions.

Starting salary will be negotiable depending on skills and experience.

  • An effective and open approach to planning the delivery of solutions, developing of systems, and the supporting of them.
  • Previous coding expertise in Blaise 4.8, Delphi/Pascal and/or Python would be a bonus.
  • A proven ability in establishing, and maintaining, collaborative relationships.
  • Experience with being consulted and providing high quality advice.
  • Proactive managing of work items in an Agile environment, including reporting of progress to the DevOps manager.
  • Commitment to growth of technical competencies and organisational knowledge, in oneself and others.
  • Some previous coding expertise in Blaise 4.8, Delphi/Pascal and/or Python would be a bonus.
