  • Senior role providing specialist analytical, policy and operational advice
  • Work proactively with Research and Evaluation streams within the Ministry

We have a fantastic new opportunity to work alongside the Team Leader and wider Māori, Communities and Partnerships Group to provide high quality Research and evaluation, analytical, and technical advice on key initiatives.


In this role you will have the opportunity to take a senior role on critical initiatives designed for streamlining workflow and identify system barriers to create positive change. You will be responsible for leading and supporting significant projects or research and evaluation initiatives, including those that cross unit and sector boundaries.


The role is highly collaborative, and you will need the confidence and proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels across the Ministry and other Government agencies.  You will demonstrate the ability to work at pace to deliver smart solutions to complex problems and provide pragmatic and effective advice.

  • Senior level analytical skills with the ability to create actionable recommendations and solutions
  • Understanding of policy and operational implementation as well as associated impacts
  • Core relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Sound judgment and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Comprehensive experience in research and producing quality data for senior leader
  • Identifying and analysing national trends and issues impacting on our work programme
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and self-management
