The Team: What we do

CDHB are looking for a person with at least five years’ experience in the IT industry with proven coding ability and a relevant tertiary ICT qualification, with a good mix of business analysis and technical IT capabilities, to join our Electronic Health Record team. This team supports and helps in the development of our Clinical Portal, Health Connect South (HCS), and all its encompassing applications, delivering this service to all clinicians across the South Island health system.

The Role: Where you fit in

This is a hands-on role, where primarily, you will be responsible for supporting HCS.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • ensuring the application is being utilized to its full functional potential. To do this you will be working with our customers across the South Island health system and with our partner Orion Health
  • as part of the team, ensuring our applications are well maintained and up to date with the latest versions.

Ideally you will possess the following capabilities:

  • Ability to support complex, integrated systems for multiple clients
  • Sound technical specification writing/documentation skills
  • Strong database query skills
  • Ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions
  • Collaborating with others to achieve goals
  • Perform work with care, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Able to change direction as appropriate based on new ideas, approaches, and strategies
  • Accept responsibility for your actions regardless of outcomes
  • Strives to meet quality standards and produce quality work products
  • Ability to apply technology and job-relevant skills to complete work tasks
  • Able to gather, organize, and analyse diverse sources of information
  • Able to resolve problems and identify solutions given available information

It would be an advantage having:

  • experience in software development
  • experience working in a hybrid cloud environment
  • experience working in a health IT environment
  • exposure to working in an agile environment.
