The Ministry of Health is the lead Public Health agency on the national COVID-19 response.

 

The HealthCERT team within the Quality Assurance and Safety Group, collaborates with the Ministry’s COVID-19 Health System Response Directorate and other agencies to implement an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) audit programme of the Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) facilities. This programme is to ensure that MIQ facilities, as part of the nation’s first and best line of defence against COVID-19, are operating in line with IPC Standard Operating Procedures, to protect the health and wellbeing of whānau and communiteis.

Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga – What is the purpose of this position?: 

This is a new role that is responsible for leading an audit team to complete onsite MIQ facility audit process. This role is also responsible for:

  • monitoring progress and providing advice to different agencies (for example, DHBs, the Ministry’s COVID-19 directorate, MBIE), the Direct General of Health and relevant Ministers
  • supporting the writing of briefings to Ministers
  • reviewing the MIQ IPC audit framework
  • relationship management with DHB COVID-19 teams and stakeholders

To be successful in this position, you will

 

  • be a health professional with a recent clinical background
  • enjoy working in a fast paced environment and working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • have sound judgement and problem solving abilities
  • be an excellent communicator with the ability to relate to a wide range of people.

 

An auditing qualification/experience would be an advantage. Tavel will be required.
