The Ministry of Health is the lead Public Health agency on the national COVID-19 response.
The HealthCERT team within the Quality Assurance and Safety Group, collaborates with the Ministry’s COVID-19 Health System Response Directorate and other agencies to implement an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) audit programme of the Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) facilities. This programme is to ensure that MIQ facilities, as part of the nation’s first and best line of defence against COVID-19, are operating in line with IPC Standard Operating Procedures, to protect the health and wellbeing of whānau and communiteis.
