Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. As part of Branch Strategy and Performance (BSP) in Policy, Regulation and Communities (PRC), you will have the opportunity to contribute to supporting the safety, wellbeing and success of New Zealand communities, and provide advice and support to our Ministers in Government. The BSP team supports the Deputy Chief Executive and the wider Branch by: leading Branch level strategic planning; coordinating input into performance reporting and accountability processes; developing and delivering activity to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and engagement of PRC and DIA; working with key stakeholders to ensure advice is well informed and able to influence others, and leading Department-wide initiatives, projects and interests on behalf of the Branch. We are looking for someone who can provide strategic advice and support across the Branch, lead strategic and business planning, performance monitoring and accountability reporting, and lead medium complexity projects to improve Branch capability and effectiveness. Key to this role is knowledge and experience of public sector accountability processes, the ability to provide strategic advice to senior leaders and build and maintain relationships.
