We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Advisor to join our Financial Strategy and Budget team in the Finance function. In this position you will be responsible for managing the appropriations for Vote Health and associated Treasury reporting requirements alongside supporting the Ministry’s contribution to the government’s annual Budget process.
You will be required to assist in the preparation of baseline updates, financial forecasts, budget initiatives, and estimates documentation. You will also review health reports and Cabinet papers ensuring that the financial implications are clearly presented; prepare responses to select committee questions, parliamentary questions and official information requests; and provide consistent high-quality advice and support to the finance function and the business.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a strong understanding of the Public Finance Act and Treasury reporting requirements. You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships and effective networks within the organisation.
You are results driven, highly focused and self-directed. This role requires someone with a proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in accounting or finance.
