About the Role │Kōrero mō te tūranga

Te Uru Rākau business unit is into the second year of operation and is making significant progress towards delivering against the Government’s goals for forestry.

As a Business Analyst within Te Uru Rākau you will apply your expertise to provide business analysis and advice to support the development and improvement of core and new business processes. 

With a focus on the customer journey you will explore processes and develop requirements to improve against the Government’s forestry goals and work closely with stakeholders and the Senior Project Manager to deliver business improvement solutions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing requirements for diverse business projects.
  • Understanding, documenting and communicating business needs, with strong consideration to the importance of the customer journey.
  • Incorporating the principles of design thinking, including tools such as co-designing, journey mapping, and creating personas.
  • Supporting business areas to document key processes.

 About You│Mōu

 You will have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior management and stakeholders.

 With a focus on business performance and process improvement you will be at ease making sense of complex or ambiguous issues.

Key requirements for this role are:

  • Previous experience in business analysis and service design within a large organisation.
  • Advanced communication skills, ability to communicate technical information simply
  • Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating workshops to gather requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed business requirements and customer journey mapping.
  • Proven ability to detail the user experience from both the internal and external user perspective.
  • Demonstrated experience of working, and leading in a collaborative environment and facilitation skills.
