  • Summary:

Are you either an experienced Business Analyst who wants to step up into a Senior BA role or a Senior BA who wants to work in the best little Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) in the best little capital city in the World?

If so then read on…!

This role will sit within the Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) of Stats NZ. The successful candidate will be part of a team of around  40 project delivery professionals spread geographically across Wellington and Christchurch.

Capabilities within the EPO are:

  • Business Analysis
  • Change and Benefits
  • Project / Programme Management (including Project Administration and Coordination)
  • Portfolio Management

We are looking to fill more than one position. As a minimum, we need one great candidate. By the time this advert closes we could be looking for two, possibly three! We are replacing people who have graduated on to other roles, and we re also gearing up to meet a daunting but exciting pipeline of work over  the next 18 months.

This role is:

  • Based in Wellington (but travel to Christchurch will be required occasionally which is cool as our Christchurch people are really friendly and welcoming!).
  • Challenging. There are many types of projects on the go within Stats NZ  as well as in the pipeline.
  • Some of these projects are Business facing and include Business Infrastructure, including significantly modernising our statistical operations.
  • Some of these projects are externally facing and include significant changes to how we collect, ingest and store data for use.
  • Fun! Like all organisations we have our minor frustrations but alongside that we have a lot of fun and we are all friendly with many varied interests that make for different and entertaining breaks and conversation.

There is no truth at all to the rumour that I only employ Liverpool F.C. Supporters. Our People and Culture team keep a close an eye on me for that.

A couple of tips to help you with your application

You are applying for a Senior Business Analyst so I am expecting your CV to written to a very high standard but not 20 pages long.

There are probably spelling and grammer mistakes in this advert (my excuse is I was educated in Liverpool). There will be none of that in your CV and cover letter.

Cover letters are really important to me, they need to reflect your personality, and not be a precis of your CV. I don t read the CV till I have read the cover letter.
