About the role

The Senior Commercial Advisor – Financial is a newly created role within the Housing Supply Wellington based team. The key deliverables for this position will be to support the procurement of more transitional and public housing places across the housing continuum and to ensure the application for funding processes is clear and understood by all stakeholders.

Some of your responsibilities will include, communicating with internal and external stakeholders on all financial matters (proposals, benchmarking, internal reporting, financial modelling), contribute to policy reviews, assess risks and make recommendations based on analysis and enhance financial models and analysis to capture the key information on proposals.

About You

The ideal candidate will have worked within the property industry and have a strong financial bent. You’ll have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable working with strong players within property and finance.

Your background will include:

  • Proven decision-making experience and leadership skills
  • Strong system and analysis ability
  • Experience analysing and interpreting financial data to produce information used to assess the financial viability of projects
  • A proactive approach, looking for ways to mitigate risks and ensure Value for Money potential investments
  • Strong negotiation ability
  • Experience translating and distilling complex information into a form that is readily understood for the target audience
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced, results-oriented agency environment
  • Professionally mature with sound judgment and the ability to gain immediate credibility  
  • Natural talent to connect with people and build rapport.
