Are you an experienced Senior Communications Advisor keen to contribute to a positive piece of work for Aotearoa / New Zealand?

The Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry is looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to provide expert communication services in support of the Inquiry’s work, communicate directly with the Inquiry’s stakeholders and advise on communications.

This is an interesting and diverse role with plenty of variation developing and implementing communications strategies for the unique audiences and stakeholders of the Royal Commission.

This is an opportunity to:

  • be part of a high performing Communications Team that helps the Royal Commission to communicate what it does, and to engage audiences and stakeholders as its work proceeds
  • support the Communications Manager to provide strategic, proactive and timely communications advice to support the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference and work programme
  • support the organisation and senior leaders with their communication needs
  • be responsible for specific communications deliverables.

You will ideally need at least five years’ experience, be adaptable and resilient and confident working in a complex environment.

The Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry is about people, in particular children, young people and vulnerable adults, and their experiences of historical abuse and neglect in State care and in the care of faith-based institutions. Over the next three years, the Commission will listen to stories about the experiences of people in care and examine ways to stop further abuse.
