We have a fantastic opportunity within Managed Isolation & Quarantine (MIQ) for two experienced Senior Data Analysts to join the Intelligence, Data & Insights (IDI) Team. These roles are for a 12 month fixed term period and are Wellington based.

MIQ IDI operates in a fast paced, ever changing environment, with no two days the same. A Senior Data Analyst in MIQ IDI leads and manages data projects, and works collaboratively with interagency teams to provide technical expertise for data & reporting requirements. You will also provide technical support and advice across the team, whilst identifying opportunities for reporting data products to be developed.  You will lead, develop, manage and monitor reporting to better inform MIQ’s approach to planning and prioritisation.  Working across the COVID-19 All of Government network you will also need to investigate ways of integrating learnings from analysis into processes and practice while ensuring data analytical principles are applied to all data products.

 

To be successful in this role you will need;

  • Proven and in-depth experience across data analytics and reporting, preferably in a senior role
  • Strong communication and data storytelling capabilities
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience in quickly establishing and managing both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience translating technical requirements and solutions to non-technical audiences
  • Proven experience with R toolsets is a must!
  • Competent Excel user with VBA programming experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent data presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritise work appropriately
  • Ability to assess risk and understand the implications of a decision

This team works to a rostered shift work pattern. It is essential that candidates must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis, which includes some work on alternate weekends which can be undertaken from home. Most work hours are between 8am – 5pm weekdays.
