What you will do

As a Senior Software Developer, you will lead the development and delivery of applications that solve business, technology and user problems, and improve NZDF logistics tools and their usage.

You will lead software development and planning and options analysis, and design and deliver applications within good practice guidelines to maximise the return on investment and improve user experience. This includes configuration management, service acceptance, application support, and problem and incident resolution.

In the first instance your focus will be on new Neptune and Automated Integration Technology (AIT)/Mobility applications currently in production to allow entry of and access to information for users in the field, deployed environments, workshops, warehouses and anywhere else NZDF’s business is undertaken.  It will then extend to the creation and support of other logistics applications that interface with NZDF’s core logistics system (SAP).

You will provide direction and quality assurance, actively coaching Developers and relevant others, working in flexible, responsive and collaborative ways, contributing across all aspects of work as needed, and continuously developing their own skills and the expertise and standing of the team.

What we need

As our ideal candidate you will be an enthusiastic individual who understands the value in working collaboratively and commits to continuous improvement.  Additionally you will have:

Who we are

This is an exciting time to be part of establishing and building new capability for the NZDF and to deliver significant tangible outcomes.

The role is fixed term for two years with plenty of room to expand your professional skills and work across a variety of initiatives.
