What you will do
As a Senior Software Developer, you will lead the development and delivery of applications that solve business, technology and user problems, and improve NZDF logistics tools and their usage.
You will lead software development and planning and options analysis, and design and deliver applications within good practice guidelines to maximise the return on investment and improve user experience. This includes configuration management, service acceptance, application support, and problem and incident resolution.
In the first instance your focus will be on new Neptune and Automated Integration Technology (AIT)/Mobility applications currently in production to allow entry of and access to information for users in the field, deployed environments, workshops, warehouses and anywhere else NZDF’s business is undertaken. It will then extend to the creation and support of other logistics applications that interface with NZDF’s core logistics system (SAP).
You will provide direction and quality assurance, actively coaching Developers and relevant others, working in flexible, responsive and collaborative ways, contributing across all aspects of work as needed, and continuously developing their own skills and the expertise and standing of the team.

The roles will initially report into the Consolidated Logistics Project (CLP). CLP is charged with initiating, driving, co-ordinating and delivering a series of activities required to transform the delivery of logistics within the NZDF. You will be required to work closely with other members of the Project, logistics community and other stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions, which will involve considering process, organisation, technology and information changes and impacts.
This is an exciting time to be part of establishing and building new capability for the NZDF and to deliver significant tangible outcomes.
The role is fixed term for two years with plenty of room to expand your professional skills and work across a variety of initiatives.
