About the group

The System Performance and Office of the Chief Executive group helps shape and support the delivery of HUD’s purpose and strategic direction. The group includes strategy, insights, research, evaluation, monitoring and regulatory oversight functions. It also includes communications and engagement, ministerial servicing and project management functions that provide specialist advice to the Chief Executive and DCEs.

About the roles

We have two opportunities for experienced Senior Engagement and Communications Advisors to join our busy Engagement and Communications team.

One role is focused on providing strategic engagement and communications advice to the Corporate and Office of the Chief Executive groups, and therefore has a strong internal communications focus.

The other role is focused on providing strategic engagement and communications advice across our other business groups, and has a stronger external communications and media relations focus.

About you

You’ll be a senior advisor currently working in communications, stakeholder engagement or related fields. You’ll take a proactive approach to your work, engaging with your customers early to develop and create engagement and communications strategies to best support their work programme.

Your background will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in taking the lead and managing development of an engagement and communications strategy from conception through to implementation and evaluation
  • Excellent writing and editing skills across a variety of mediums and channels, including social media
  • Proven ability to grasp concepts quickly and translate into engagement and communications activities
  • Experience leading projects and applying project management skills to achieve successful outcomes
  • Experience in advising senior management on reputational risks and potential mitigation strategies
  • Experience leading communications to support internal change is desirable
  • Technical ability in relevant digital applications (e.g. social media and intranet).
