What you will do
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a role that will focus your skills into the area of aviation rescue and firefighting, along with emergency response and the preservation of life and assets.
In this role you will be responsible for assisting the Shift Leader in all matters. You must have a strong understanding of Domestic / Industrial firefighting and be capable of leading team members during routine tasks unsupervised (if required) and at all emergency incidents under the direction of the Shift Leaders.
This position is on a 3 year, fixed term contract.

We are looking for strong team players who enjoy being part of a professional, friendly and collaborative team.
You will have completed the necessary firefighter training (FENZ QFF or equivalent) and be FENZ Emergency Response Driver qualified. You may be required to work outside of normal hours or travel to other bases and camps within NZ for several days or a couple of weeks. As there can be overseas training, you will require a valid passport.
It’s important you can work rostered shifts including weekends and public holidays. To compensate for this, we offer a salary loading payment in addition to a base salary.

The Base Woodbourne Rescue Fire Service (RFS) is responsible for the provision of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and emergency management services to RNZAF Base Woodbourne for the preservation of life and the protection of NZDF infrastructure and assets.
