Golder has a new full-time opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our teambased in Auckland. You will be working on a variety of civil and mining infrastructure projects in Auckland and across New Zealand.You will have strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical advice on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal stakeholders;
• Assisting with project planning and deliverables of technical complexity;
• Design lead role for infrastructure projects and technical reviewing of design work;
• Interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis, drawing conclusions/ recommendations, and preparing geotechnical report;
• Guiding and mentoring junior staff to grow within the team;
• Preparing proposals and reports for clients, and maintaining client contact and customer liaison; and
• Identifying safety hazards and completing OH&S incident reporting.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, with at least 7 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering within a consulting firm or similar;
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail;
• Experience with numerical software packages; PLAXIS and FLAC valued;
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills; and
• Project Design Management skills and the ability to build relationships with clients.
