We have a vacancy for a Senior Integrity Officer in the Integrity and Enforcement Team (IET). IET is part of the Criminal Proceeds, Integrity and Enforcement business unit within MBIE and provides services to the Registrar of Companies and Companies Office to achieve its compliance, integrity and enforcement objectives. 


A primary focus of the Companies Office is to ensure there is accountability and responsibility in New Zealand’s business environment. This is done by effective compliance monitoring and maintaining the integrity of information on the registers maintained by the Companies Office in particular the registers established under the Companies Act 1993 and Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008.

Some of the key responsibilities in the role are the consideration and analysis of complaints made to the Registrar of Companies, and the analysis and verification of documents submitted to the Companies Office. In this role you will liaise with lawyers, accountants, company directors and the public.  You will apply your judgement, analytical skills and thorough attention to detail. We are, therefore, seeking high calibre applicants who have proven research, analytical and decision making skills and are able to work in a high performing team environment.


Other essential skills and experience required for these roles include:

  • Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Companies Act 1993 and, the Financial Service Providers ( Registration and Disputes Resolution ) Act 2008 and the ability to interpret and apply other legislation, internal policies and guidelines
  • Ability to write clear robust reports and excellent oral communication skills
  • Experience in managing a case load
  • Proven ability to develop trust, credibility and engagement  with managers, staff  and stakeholders
  • A tertiary qualification preferably in law or commerce or relevant experience, such as experience in a compliance or regulatory role
