We are looking for three experienced internal communications professionals with great relationship management skills to join DOC’s Internal Communications team, based in Wellington.

We’re passionate about internal comms and the difference it can make to enhancing workplace culture and engagement and supporting DOC’s conservation work, in partnership with our Organisational Development and Corporate Services colleagues, so if you share our passion then come and join us.

 

He angitūtanga: About the Role 

The roles are providing strategic internal communications advice and engaging storytelling to support key projects and strategic priorities to be successful. Specifically these roles will create and implement communication strategies to drive greater awareness and understanding to help shape the desired internal culture for health, safety and wellbeing, treaty partner engagement sustainability, our organisational strategy Te Kaupapa and our capability building project called Future DOC.

He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for

We are looking for senior internal communications experts who can:

  • Work alongside our internal clients as a business partner in a client management model and role model this way of working
  • Develop clear, credible and compelling internal communications strategies that will drive and shape a great workplace culture through deliberate planning and crafting of communications.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing skills with the ability to bring our organisational priorities to life through effective engagement and by telling stories across multiple channels and formats including video.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders, while bringing people on the journey with you.
  • Ensure there are clear communication measurements and reporting processes in place.
  • Demonstrate great people skills and be a good listener who seeks to understand and learn, and the ability to relate well to others will be essential.

 

Successful candidates will be flexible self-starters and capable multi-taskers; able to pick up and quickly understand different issues, manage conflicting priorities and get work done to a high standard. Providing strong strategic advice, being an excellent writer and executing well on key internal campaigns is your forte.

You will have excellent presentation skills and the ability to lead work with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and at all levels of the organisation. Familiar with information technology, you will be comfortable with digital, email newsletters (campaign monitor) and video. You will also make an important contribution to enhancing team cohesion and credibility.
