What you will do
 
The Senior Maintenance Engineer (Electronics) works for the Senior Project Manager to lead and manage the technical aspects within assigned projects. You will be the electronics specialist who will be required to work across a wide array of exciting projects that are already in progress or will soon start.
 
This role is accountable for:

  • Providing specialist technical expertise in Electronics/Electro Optical Engineering and support to the project team;
  • Influencing requirements management, development of specifications and selection of equipment as well as supporting Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) functions;
  • Evaluating, modifying and developing innovative ideals and new technology in their specific technical discipline;
  • Predicting and assessing the technical, logistical and practical operational issues that might arise if selected for service;
  • Finding resolutions for all identified technical issues, and work with project managers and project staff to provide subject matter expertise; and
  • Leading, mentoring and training other Technical Advisors.
  • What we need

    This role requires someone who has proven electronics technical skills with the ability to think laterally and problem solve in an innovative way. You will be able to convert the technical information into accessible information to ensure understanding across teams you are working with.
     
    You will also have:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a maintenance support environment, with 3-5 years’ experience leading and mentoring teams;
  • Current working knowledge of NZ electrical legislation;
  • Proven ability to identify the central key issues in complex technical problem;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop workable solutions to address difficult problems where the decision is likely to be subjected to internal and external scrutiny;
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical issues to a wide range of audience with varying backgrounds.
  • Extensive experience researching, writing, and/or maintaining a range of technical publications.
  • Please note: This role requires bi-monthly travel domestically and annual international travel. You must have a clean, full NZ drivers’ licence.
