About the Role

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Advisor, who thrives in a busy environment and is an excellent communicator, to join our Official and Parliamentary Information (OPI) team.  Your nous and judgement will assist you continue to improve our service, and you can hit the ground running.

 

You will assist in providing high quality responses to Official Information Act requests, Select Committee questions and Parliamentary questions.  You will ensure our responses, processes, standards and guidance are fit for purpose.

 

You will provide sound advice to team members on effective strategies to improve and maintain quality standards.   

  

This is a great opportunity to use your expert knowledge to mentor and coach our Advisors and partner with the other Seniors in the team to foster a strong supportive team culture.

 

As an experienced Senior Advisor you will also be given the opportunity to step up and act for the Manager when required and represent the Ministry at interagency events and forums.

Skills and Experience

 

Our ideal candidate will: 

  • have proven experience providing high quality responses to Official Information Act requests
  • be a strong team player and keen to take on a senior mentoring role
  • have strong influencing and relationship management skills and be able to quickly establish credibility and trust
  • enjoy working with complex issues and be able to explain your thinking verbally and in writing
  • excellent communication skills, with good attention to detail
  • strong knowledge of the machinery of government, and a desire to make a difference
