The Agricultural Reform team sits within the Policy and Trade Branch of MPI.  This team is delivering on a large-scale legislative reform that intersects with multiple existing acts and administrative schemes and will shape how our food and fibre products are exported in the future.  We have a unique opportunity to modernise and expand our export system to make sure that it works for New Zealanders now and into the future.

Our work is fundamental to achieving the Ministry for Primary Industries’ roadmap for economic recovery.  The food and fibre sector will be at the forefront of our export-led recovery.  We are accelerating the food and fibre sector’s economic potential to add $44 billion in export earnings over the next decade.  Having the right settings for the system that underpins New Zealand products extracting value from off-shore markets is at the heart of achieving this.

You will be joining an intellectually curious, high performing and collegial team that will challenge your thinking and support you to expand your policy skills.
