The Ministry of Health is the kaitiaki of the health and disability system in New Zealand. We are responsible for providing active stewardship and leadership across the nation’s health and disability system. We ensure the system provides people with the highest levels of care, regardless of who they are or where they live.
The Senior Policy Analyst leads and contributes to the development and delivery of quality policy advice to improve health outcomes for Mâori within a complex and challenging health and disability system.
To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in policy design and delivery. Your understanding of tikanga Mâori and working knowledge and willingness to improve your te reo Mâori will be important. You will bring a solid understanding of public policy and, the machinery of government, with a demonstrated knowledge of political administrative processes and structures. You will have a sound understanding of, and experience in applying the full policy process lifecycle. As a senior team member you will enjoy contributing to a team culture, sharing your knowledge and expertise with peers, and be happy to take on a leadership role in supporting other team members and leading or contributing to programmes of work.
