Reporting to the Manager of Procurement & Contract Development, we have a vacancy for a Senior Procurement Advisor to support our social service procurement and commissioning activities.


Senior Procurement Advisors are responsible for leading the design and implementation of social service procurement activities, and provide quality assurance and best practice to support effective commissioning. This role is part of a close team that hold the responsibility for managing social service commissioning activities.



About you:

You will bring your innovation and creativity to a role which is at the forefront of our changing way of working with social services providers. You will have experience of leading a wide range of procurement processes, and successfully managing internal and external relationships.



Skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in leading and overseeing multiple social service procurements and/or commissioning (particularly planning and sourcing), including risk analysis
  • Successful experience coaching and mentoring others
  • Understanding of framework documents such as the Government Rules of Sourcing
  • A passion for continuous improvement with exceptional planning and prioritisation skills
  • The ability to build strong strategic relationships both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical information in plain language – both written and verbally
  • The ability to demonstrate commitment to and respect for the Treaty of Waitangi and to incorporate this into your work
  • The ability to work flexibly and under pressure
