Ko tā mātou mahi – Our role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Procurement Specialist to support our Procurement team in the New Construction area. This role will work closely with our Procurement Manager – New Construction to provide commercial advice, coordination and management of procurement activity for this portfolio. You will be heavily involved in providing direction and leadership, along with the development of procurement strategies, managing the end to end tendering process and providing procurement expertise.

Being highly organised and taking the lead with a proactive approach will see you have impact and influence within the team and broader organisation. This role will see you dealing with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally so managing and fostering relationships is imperative.

To be successful in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate sound commercial experience within a procurement environment. You will be well versed in procurement best practice and familiar with achieving public value as a key success driver. You’ll possess sound business acumen and ideally you are experienced with influencing and building relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • Significant experience performing in a Commercial and/or Procurement function within the public and/or private sectors
  • Highly effective communicator with a strong track record of managing the expectations of internal and external stakeholders and key suppliers
  • Comfortable working across the breadth of the procurement skill set
  • Ability to think out side of the box
  • Confident in using a consultative approach in the development and execution of commercial strategies
