About us

The Funding and Programme Delivery group provides support for people who have the greatest housing needs, by funding the delivery of public housing, transitional housing, and housing related support services to tackle homelessness in New Zealand. To do this, they partner with Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, community and transitional housing providers, developers, social services, councils and other agencies. The group works closely with HUD’s policy groups to help inform advice to the Government on preventing and reducing homelessness, and to ensure policies and interventions are targeted to the places that need it most.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Project Coordinator to support our busy Housing Supply team. In this role you’ll help shape and drive our projects and programmes of work, streamline commercial and partnering documents, manage programme and workflow reporting and work closely with our Business Development Managers to ensure that the correct frameworks and processes are in place that support best practice methodologies.

About You

You’ll have proven experience operating at a senior level on complex, large scale projects and have worked with a number of project management methodologies. You will be customer centric, have the ability to pick things up quickly and be comfortable multitasking through a busy workload.

Your background will include:

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced, results-oriented agency environment
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite of products, particularly Excel, Visio and Project
  • The ability to challenge and push back
  • Proactive approach, looking for ways to improve systems and processes
  • Professionally mature with sound judgment and the ability to gain immediate credibility  
  • Strong time management skills
  • Natural talent to connect with people and build rapport.
