What you will do

As a Senior Project Manager within our Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Branch, you will be responsible for delivering and managing high value, high risk projects and programmes.
You will advocate a user-centric design and Agile delivery approach and assist in guiding project team members to maintain the same focus and direction.

In doing this you will ensure that our projects are not only focused on delivering business benefits but also provide a superior customer experience and quality outcomes.

Please Note: The official title for this role within NZDF is Project Manager Level 2.

What we need

We are keen to hear from you if you are an energetic people leader and skilled project management professional with a strong history of delivering large scale projects within the ICT industry.
You will need to be highly competent at managing stakeholders, able to influence and provide expert advice so that you can become a trusted partner.

In particular we are looking for:

• Comprehensive understanding of and experience in applying project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile) in large and complex environments;
• Commercial acumen and understanding of the government rules of sourcing;
• Experience leading and managing teams;
• Resource management and strategic resource planning;
• Technical skill and expertise in Resourcing, Relationship Management, Capability Management, Learning and Development Management, IT Governance and Performance Management; and
• A qualification in an applied project management discipline such as PRINCE2 and/or Agile.

Please note: You must be able and willing to travel within New Zealand and overseas if required.
