Te Papa Atawhai is offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled individual to be at the leading edge of conservation leadership in Tāmaki Makaurau in the role of Senior Ranger Community Kaitiaki Ao Hāpori, based in Auckland.
This position is based in the Auckland Mainland Operations District based at Bledisloe House, Auckland (full-time, permanent).
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a strong, hardworking team and support conservation growth in Auckland alongside our Treaty partners and communities.
As A Senior Ranger, Community, you will be a leader in a hard-working, passionate and focused Operations team working on important conservation initiatives across the Auckland Mainland. You will be responsible for taking a strategic lead in promoting conservation, raising awareness and educating others in the community.
You will take a leading role in external communications for the Auckland Region, managing the DOC Auckland Facebook page, and providing internal and external communications support to the Operations Manager and Auckland Director.
The work draws in a wide range of partners across the district; iwi, community groups, business groups and other agencies. Working in partnership with these groups to achieve synergies for conservation will be a regular occurrence and an area you will be able to showcase your engagement and relationship skills.
