Our organisation is made up of over 3,000 talented and committed people around New Zealand, from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. While we work in different groups and on different things, we all work to help shape the future of education.

About our team

The People Capability team supports the organisation to look after our greatest strength – our people. We understand that to get the best outcomes for children and young people, our people need to be at their best too. We’re currently expanding our team to ensure our capability enables us to deliver key strategic outcomes including:

  • building Education’s ability to attract, recruit and retain great people
  • supporting a highly motivated, engaged, collaborative and diverse workforce
  • developing our people’s skills and capability to contribute to strong organisational performance
  • delivering excellent advice and service.

You’ll be joining the Sourcing & Selection team who are passionate about exploring inclusive ways of recruiting to attract diverse talent. The team will support you on implementing D&I practices in recruitment such as mitigating biases at key stages of the screening and selection process.

We are looking for a Senior Recruitment Advisor – IT who will be dedicated to recruiting talent for the ICT team which is part of the Business Enablement Group. The ICT team provide the Ministry with the support it needs to plan, deliver, use and maintain a range of IT systems. They help with the technology and infrastructure needed to deliver on the Ministry’s programmes. About the role

As Senior Recruitment Advisor – IT you will be focused on recruiting IT talent to deliver a range of digital projects and services to support the business and education sector. You will be proactively sourcing and creating talent pipelines for roles in software development, infrastructure, digital and CX, and project/business analysis.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll provide end-to-end recruitment services and assist managers to develop job adverts, selection criteria, interview guides and any other job-specific material required for the role. A Recruitment Coordinator will be working alongside you to support you with sourcing, candidate management and interview arrangements.

We want all candidates to have a great experience. You’ll be looking after candidate queries, ensuring the recruitment process is inclusive and accessible, and supporting the managers in delivering prompt and constructive feedback to candidates throughout the hiring process.

We are open to considering either a contract or fixed term arrangement.

About you

You’ll have experience with proactive talent sourcing techniques and recruitment technology, as well as a consultative approach with internal stakeholders. You will have extensively recruited in the IT sector and will be able to leverage on current candidate networks and relationships to source for highly technical roles.

You’re great at executing recruitment projects, highly organised and have an eye for detail. You possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. There will be several things to juggle so prioritising and planning is essential in being able to deliver to timelines. Work experience in a large complex organisation makes it easier for you to transition into the Ministry environment.

You’ll have the backing of a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable team who possess diverse skillsets. You will have the opportunity to further broaden your own skills, while also contributing to the development of the wider team by sharing your experiences.
