He angitūtanga: About the RoleBuilding on your technical knowledge and experience in RMA planning, there will be opportunities for you to advocate for positive conservation outcomes through RMA processes across Aotearoa. You’ll be contributing to planning and consenting projects nationally, spanning across coastal and freshwater as well as indigenous biodiversity. Your expertise will be called on to give advice to the Minister of Conservation and the Director-General, as well as presenting expert evidence at Environment Court hearings. You will work closely with the Technical, Legal and Policy teams to provide support from an RMA perspective and to ensure cross-organisational teams are successful with the implementation of resource management objectives and policies.You will share your expertise with other RMA team members, act as a mentor to junior staff, and be part of an engaged, high performing national team. Working alongside others is crucial in this role so you will need to be able to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of people both internally and externally.
