Reporting to the Solution Architect, the purpose of the Senior Salesforce Developer is:

+ Undertake development for major projects and new product launches.

+ Clarify requirements to ensure development meets required business functionality with follow-on analysis and preparation of technical specifications and related documents.

+ Work collaboratively within and across different teams in Information Technology to ensure that seamless service and support is provided to our user community.

+ Perform automated and manual unit testing and prepare code releases through various environments, including testing and production.

+ Take ownership of own learnings by attending trainings, meetings where ideas are exchanged, researching and reading materials that will help and support their development.

+ Approach tasks with and Agile and DevOps mindset.

+ Provide mentoring support and development of our more junior developers.

+ Provide ongoing 2nd and 3rd level support. This will involve analyzing and resolving application support requests, solution design, programming, unit testing and maintenance of core applications which support both online and telesales channels.

+ Enhance and support Cigna’s production systems and provide systems analysis skills to the wider organisation.

+ Provide ongoing improvements to the functionality and usability of our suite Cigna’s software applications.

+ Provide application support to all business units within acceptable timeframes including:Perform ad-hoc technical investigation and analysis.Proactively recommend changes to existing applications and/or business processes where improvements are identified.Work with the Regional Team when needed to help identify solutions to problems that may arise.Work with the Solution Architects to design, build and test technical components in-line with the Technical Architecture roadmap.

+ Keep documentation updated at all times to reflect any changes in the environment. Creating new documentation when necessary.

+ Provide support to the other developers to empower them to confidently contribute towards creating and maintaining best practice development standards. This may include proactively identifying, defining and documenting new standards as required.

+ Learn and adapt new tools and ways of working to allow us to successfully deliver best value to the business.

+ Use and contribute (where required) to the overall DevOps practices of the team.

+ Show initiative in helping team members, the wider IT team and the business, instead of waiting to be asked.

+ Provide mentoring support and professional development to the other developers to empower them to confidently contribute to development efforts.

+ Work closely with Information Technology team members to ensure that seamless support is provided to all users. This involves pinpointing problems and where they lie, and finding alternative solutions to these problems.

**Experience/ Education /Knowledge Requirements:**


+ At least 5 years’ experience developing and configuring the Salesforce platform

+ Well versed in writing modular, scalable code that exhibits the SOLID principles

+ Salesforce certification:

+ Salesforce Certified Admin 201

+ Salesforce Platform App Builder

+ Platform Developer 1

+ Solid hands-on development experience with: Lightning Components, Visualforce Pages, Classes/Controllers, Apex Triggers, Test Classes, Batch Jobs Web Services, RestResource Classes, HttpRequests, Remote Site Settings, Connected Apps, External Data Sources and External Objects

+ Solid hands-on configuration experience with: Custom Object/Field creation, Validation Rules, Workflows, Process Builders, Flows and Change Set Deployments

+ Experience with Agile development methodology

+ Good SQL/RDBMS database knowledge

+ Deliver quality with a focus on Test Driven Development (TDD) practices

+ Communication skills for a highly collaborative agile software development process

+ Be an independent and versatile hacker, with the ability to pick up different languages, frameworks and techniques with relative ease

+ Some variety of continuous integration platforms Jenkins, Teamcity, Octopus, etc.

+ Exceptional fault diagnosis and troubleshooting skills a necessity.


+ A degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science or Software Engineering

+ Salesforce Certified Data Architecture and Management Designer

+ Salesforce Certified Application Architect
