Senior Technician (permanent, full-time), Bacteriology and Aquatic Animal Diseases

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Technician with experience in microbiology and molecular biology and who is passionate about protecting New Zealand’s production, companion and native animals from exotic and emerging diseases. The Senior Technician position is a permanent position and is based in the Bacteriology and Aquatic Animal Diseases team within New Zealand’s National Animal Health Laboratory.

You will be an integral part of the team conducting diagnostic tests for a wide range of animal diseases in both PC3+ and PC2 containment laboratories.

We are seeking a highly-motivated individual with an applicable degree in biological sciences.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of laboratory diagnostics,

Salary range for this role is $56K to $70K depending on skills and experience
