You will play a broad delivery role across the transport planning function, being a trusted adviser to our diverse range of clients. You will be joining a nation-wide team with an enviable track record, known by our clients for delivering key strategic transport projects. We lead projects of all sizes for a diverse group of clients and work as an integrated team of over 70 Transport Planners, engineers, traffic modellers and technical experts operating from Beca locations throughout New Zealand.You will be working with a range of clients from local authorities to District Health Boards and Defence. As a Transport Planner you will be challenged to problem solve, looking for ways to assist our clients in finding a solution to their problems whether through the traditional business case approach or through a bespoke process.We are looking for a high performing person with a real passion for Transport Planning who is passionate about listening to our clients’ needs and deliver for them, with a collaborative, team based, and people focused mindset. About you | Te rongoāOur Transport Planners come from a broad range of backgrounds and professions. You could have a background in geography, anthropology, economics, as well as the more traditional engineering backgrounds however being able to write a story and interpret data is a must and you need to be ready to make a difference. It is a ‘craft’ to be able to provide quality advice while balancing a broad range of stakeholder viewpoints to deliver a transport outcome. We are often working with central transport agencies, different community and iwi groups, contractors and the general public. You will be a people person creating the environment to express, understand and work with very different viewpoints. You will enjoy the challenge of working collaboratively with stakeholders, with the ability to guide discussions to enable project delivery. You will be calm, comfortable with ambiguity and differences, yet excited by the role you will play in working with people to shape communities through Transport Planning projects. We are looking for a savvy, innovative and commercially minded professional with a collaborative approach who is motivated to be part of, and strengthen, our Transport Planning business. You will be an excellent communicator, both in person and via written reports with a broad understanding of the district plan and how local government operates.
