The purpose of the role


As a Service Desk Consultant you are accountable for providing high quality, effective and all-encompassing support service to the computing and application environment of Stats NZ and to meet or exceed the levels of support defined in the Support Agreement. 

You will be the first point of contact for IT incidents within the organisation, and provide level one support either for incidents reported by phone or through the Service Centre/Help Desk management tool. Face to face client support is also required for such things as desk moves, new starters and meeting room technology support.


Functional or role-specific technical competencies

Have a relevant diploma and/or a good tertiary academic record and/or relevant working experience. 

Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service and support

Have the functional and technical skills and knowledge to meet the performance requirements of the position 

Knowledge of helpdesk methodologies and best practice.
