‘Kotahi ano te kaupapa, ko te oranga o te iwi’ – ‘There is only one purpose to our work: the wellness and wellbeing of our people.’

Service Manager roles are pivotal to Corrections and offer you the opportunity to showcase your ability to achieve outcomes through others, capability as a visible leader and determination to strive for high performance.

We are guided by Hokai Rangi –  Ara Poutama’s organisational strategy for the next 5 years. It recognises and builds on the good work we are already doing, however, it also looks to find new and alternative ways to achieve better outcomes for the people in our care and their whanau which will result in reduced reoffending.

Through the development and implementation of business plans and reporting tools aligned to the overall Corrections Services strategy for Community Probation, you will monitor risk and enhance service delivery to make our communities safer. By providing professional leadership in all aspects of practice, legislation and offender management, you will maintain quality standards and ensure statutory obligations in line with Department policy.

To achieve this you will need to:

  • Be a strong and visible leader who engages and motivates staff
  • Foster best practice in case management
  • Identify and manage risk
  • Build strong relationships and make good decisions.
  • Have experience in Corrections environment or other organisations that service the Criminal Justice System

This is a challenging and rewarding choice; managing a team to make change that matters to individuals, their families and their communities.

Corrections embraces diversity and is committed to an inclusive workplace. We recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of individuals and celebrate the collective talent of all employees.
