About our role

The Service Manager role will see you work Monday to Friday at our Hyundai workshop in Te Rapa, Hamilton. This role is to be the main link between the service and workshop departments, and to provide outstanding customer service through the management and prioritising of workshop jobs to it’s optimum. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To liaise between the Service Advisors and Technicians as to the priorities and status of workshop jobs.
  • Oversee daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow management. 
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise service department performance, including sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, coaching and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety in all service activities.
  • To optimise the productivity and efficiency of the Technicians and Apprentices with a view to maximising the workshop throughput and profitability.
  • To contribute to the achievement of high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring all work is processed through the workshop to meet customer expectations of timeliness and quality. 
  • Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager or similar role in the automotive industry.· 
  • Valid NZ Driver's Licence
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams.
  • Solid understanding of automotive service operations, including technical knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task & cope under pressure situations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. 
  • Currently living in New Zealand and/or hold a valid work visa (If applicable)
