About the team
Our core business is to support children, young people and their families who are at significant risk of harm now and into the future. To achieve this, we form partnerships with children, families and whānau, iwi, NGOs, and other government agencies and work with our partners to help children thrive.
The Ministry is just over three years old and is enhancing its capabilities as it embarks on a number of transformation programmes to achieve its goals. Technology and Channels is responsible for the Ministry’s technology strategy, systems and services. It is an exciting time for the group as we are currently implementing a new operating model so that we can deliver our responsibilities more efficiently. In the next few weeks and months, we will be setting up this new team and hiring experienced staff.

About the role
As part of our new operating model we will have five dedicated Service Portfolios. Each Service Portfolio will be responsible for a set of systems that is broadly aligned to agency business functions.
We are currently seeking a Service Portfolio Manager for the Community and Partnering services portfolio based in Auckland.
Focussed on systems for NGOs and information sharing with partner agencies, the Service Portfolio Manager will play a critical leadership role and will focus on the following key aspects:
Skills and experience
You will be an experienced manager, leading teams to deliver large scale, high cost, business critical programmes of ICT work. Your significant experience in working with technology vendors, ICT delivery and project management will see you advising and supporting the senior leaders of a large and complex organisation.
In addition to this you will have previous experience with the transition of new and modified systems in a production environment.
