The role

Our vision is ‘building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders’. To help us achieve this we are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Media Advisor to join our Wellington based Marketing team.

We’re after a Social Media Advisor to tell our story, and build an online community of Kiwis that know, understand, and trust Housing New Zealand. We have the strategy and support, what we do from here is up to you. It’s time to bring Housing New Zealand into a digital and social world.

In this role you will be involved in establishing a social media presence, an online voice, and community for an organisation committed to making a difference.

You will be the eyes, ears, and voice of Housing New Zealand on social media working alongside the wider Communications, Marketing and Stakeholder team to ensure content is appropriately planned amongst our other communications activities, as well as ensuring content is fit for social media.

The role will also be an advocate for writing for the web, plain English, and an ambassador of our social media brand.

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Proven experience in developing/championing an organisation’s brand via digital and social channels
  • Demonstrated experience of social media management, preferably across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Neighbourly
  • Clear and confident communicator, who can write for Kiwi users of social media
  • A curiosity to tackle problems, and to figure out what’s really needed
  • A knack for reading trends and analytics in order to improve
  • Experience with photography and/or video production for the purposes of social media content
  • Familiar with graphic/imaging applications like Photoshop and Canva
  • Knowledgeable with social media monitoring/publishing/analytics tools, and designing reports for internal clients
  • Ability to develop, facilitate and manage both external and internal relationships, particularly with suppliers
