Although the position is based primarily in Blenheim/Marlborough region the successful candidate may be expected to support and cover for their colleagues throughout the Upper South.
Blenheim is well known as the centre of the New Zealand wine industry. It enjoys one of New Zealand’s sunniest climates, with warm, relatively dry summers and cool crisp winters.

Oranga Tamariki – Ministry for children work with the most at risk tamariki and rangatahi in New Zealand. Oranga Tamariki works to advance the wellbeing and positive long-term outcomes of children and young people. In everything we do, the wellbeing and best-interests of children are paramount. Our Youth Justice Social Workers are the key people who work with young people, the Youth Justice Team encompasses our Māori and Iwi partners as well as a range of other agencies both government and non-government who work together to address the needs of Rangatahi and their whanau.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, qualified Social Worker who can help us by positively influencing rangatahi to accept responsibility and to change their behaviours. You will be someone who can ensure their voices are heard and empower whānau to engage in family group conferences and court proceedings. Part of your role to achieve these outcomes will be by completing assessments and working with our rangatahi and whanau to create plans.
