About the role.
Due to recent building and construction law reforms, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the MBIE Legal Branch as part of our Corporate & Registries Team. This positon offered as a 12 month fixed-term contract.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated solicitor to work with an initial regulatory focus on supporting those working within the Building & Construction system including occupational regulation.
The Corporate & Registries team provides general legal advice to all of MBIE’s operations, including in relation to MBIE’s 16 different regulatory systems and on governance, integrity and conduct matters that touch the organisation. In this role there is opportunity to work across MBIE’s regulatory systems e.g. Immigration, Employment, Residential Tenancies, Trading Standards and more.
You will be working with senior in house counsel and providing advice on a wide range of legal issues. You will be technically proficient, agile, adaptable and a strong communicator.
