WDL is a wholesale company that is the franchisor of 70 Super Value and Fresh Choice supermarkets as well as a growing wholesale business.To play a key role within the WDL Team, we have a vacancy for a Space Management Manager.About the roleThe role is a stand alone position reporting into the General Manager and is based at our Favona Rd Support office in Auckland. This role will see you developing both Visual Merchandise Plans (Planograms) and strategies across our stores to maximise category, customer and business objectives.This role will also play an essential part in supporting key stakeholder relationships across our Owner Operators, Category management, Renewal, Operations and Logistics teams to ensure alignment with our Merchandise and Space Management plans.Some of your key responsibilities will include:Maintain a close working relationship with WWNZ’s Space Analysts to ensure we perform the Space role to the required standardLead and manage the cultural change around relay plan implementation with the Owner Operators, Merchandise and OperationsEnsure utilisation of space management and optimisation applications & tools as required to develop high quality planogramsEnsure the use analytical tools, insight and data sources as required, to produce planograms that are fact based and logicalEngage with Merchandise Manager, Category Managers and key stakeholders to ensure planograms generated by the team adequately support category strategies.Provide leadership across the broader space management function, including direct support for the GM Local as requiredWork with stakeholders, including Owner Operators, Merchandise and Operations, to ensure planograms generated reflect end to end business needsEnhance wider WDL team engagement through appropriate management activities, including the active management of team culture, and ways of workingsEnsure planograms generated support the delivery of business objectives, including sales, profit & stock lossEnsure planograms generated are simple for stores, and use correct stock management, product flow and operational principlesFoster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying future challenges and opportunities and provide recommendations to the business on appropriate actions as requiredWork with colleagues across the Group to support enhanced Group enablement and solution sharingRespond to internal and external inquiries with regards to store planogramsDeliver insight and performance reporting as requiredEffectively manage relationships with WWNZ Space Team and third party service providers in the space and insights environment.About youThis role requires someone with strong leadership skills with a proven track record of engaging and influencing both team and key stakeholders of the business to drive optimal results.It will also require a high level of stakeholder management as the Owner Operator dynamic has some subtle differences versus a Corporate owned chain.You will be a change agent with an innovative mindset and the drive to put your problem solving skills to the test.
