What you will do

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate management, provision and support of logistic items by facilitating the receipt, issue, control and storage of NZDF aeronautical and non-aeronautical inventory.

What we need

We are seeking a person who has worked in a general warehousing environment and has basic computerised data entry skills. The ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology is desirable.

Key knowledge and skills we are looking for are:

  • Accurate data entry input;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus;
  • Reliable and dependable work habits and a “can do” attitude;
  • The ability to work effectively without constant supervision;
  • Enthusiasm to attend continuous training as scheduled;
  • Knowledge and exposure to Occupational Health and Safety concepts within a warehouse situation.

Holding a full New Zealand drivers licence with an F endorsement is an entry requirement for this role. Upon employment the NZDF will provide the necessary training for you to gain the IATA Dangerous Goods qualification and the HSNO qualification.

Who we are

The Logistics Support Squadron (LSS) Auckland (AK) is a sub unit of the Materiel Support Wing (MSW).  LSS AK is broken down into Two Flights (Supply Operations Flight and Supply Support Flight) with their primary purposes being:

Providing Depot level Warehousing, Receipt, Dispatch and Distribution function for all aeronautical spares on behalf of the Force Element Groups (FEGs) on base. 

The provision of embedded Forward Support Sections within the FEGs holding high turnover aircraft spares and providing an interface into the Supply system and deployed Supply support.

LSS AK is also responsible for disposal of aeronautical spares and components IAW NZDF policy and procedures.
