Ko wai tatou – Who we are

Te Taurapa Tuhono - New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) is the New Zealand government’s international business development agency. Our job is to support exporters in order to grow a productive, sustainable and inclusive economy. We work with a diverse range of innovative businesses, including food producers, Maori land trusts and iwi, tech start-ups, service providers, manufacturers and more.

We have an exciting opportunity to join us in the role of Strategy Advisor, based in Wellington or Auckland.

He aha tau e mahi ana - What you’ll be doing

In this key role working closely with stakeholders you will be contributing to the strategic direction of NZTE through the development, monitoring and ultimate delivery of strategic aspirations. You’ll do this by providing analysis and insights on a range of aspects to inform and support operational and strategic decision-making. You will provide advice and project support to help ensure NZTE remains strategic by identifying the risks, gaps and opportunities, whilst navigating the fast-changing environment.

Ko nga mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitu te haere - What you’ll need to be successful

You will be able to hit the ground running and have a great attitude. You will be comfortable looking at numbers and spreadsheets, pulling together papers and PowerPoint and presenting on this.

You will be a strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively, listen deeply, and build credible trusted relationships. You’ll be able to work autonomously, have a strong attention to detail, and be highly motivated and organised. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity, be an astute problem solver with a natural curiosity.
