    About the role

    Accountable for creating and driving our Council’s future direction as part of the strategic plan process.

    Your specialist expertise will enable you to provide accurate and comprehensive technical direction to support decision making for key external and internal stakeholders.

    This role reports to the Chief Executive and will lead Strategic Policy & Planning, Governance and District Managers.

    You are an exceptional leader who has a high level of commercial and political acumen. You will be a great fit with us if you want to exercise your ability to lead, inspire, drive curiosity, and facilitate positive change.

    To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A track record at senior level in leading government functions and strategic stakeholder management
  • The credibility and communication skills to engage, persuade and influence senior internal and external decision makers whilst connecting issues and being aware of changing environments
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including understanding different stakeholder’s motivations and the ability to influence
  • Passion for building organisational capability and strong coaching skills to grow your team
  • Experience applying in-depth analysis to complex issues in a changing and ambiguous environment
  • Insightful and innovative public sector analysis and advice and an ability to build authentic relationships through an inclusive and collaborative style.
