**About the position**

Our Built Environment practice has a global footprint with more than 5,000 professionals contributing to $1.5B in revenue. Our Architectural, Interior and Building System solutions supports all aspects of specialty consulting to include asset management, economics, business development and scientific advancement for our government, commercial, institutional and industrial clients, across diverse markets and services.

To be based in either of Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch and reporting to the Technical Team Leader, we currently have an opportunity for a New Zealand experienced mid-level Structural Engineer to assist with delivering several structural projects. The key success to this role will be dependent on your design skills experience, initiative, the ability to exercise sound judgement and your application of engineering principles/techniques to projects.

As the Structural Engineer, you can expect to:

+ Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and related documentation for civil and structural engineering work

+ Prepare professional documentation suitable for submission for Building Consent. The documents will reference engineering calculations and include sketches that support the engineering design work

+ Carry out structural engineering analysis using computer analysis techniques backed up by hand calculations

+ Review the work of other engineers

+ Carry out site inspections and prepare reports

+ Manage projects under the supervision of the Project Director

+ Assist with the monitoring of project costs and project scope of works

+ Strong service delivery to all clients (internal and external)

**About you**

To be considered for the role, you will possess the following skills and experience:

+ Relevant engineering degree is required, CPEng or working towards CPEng

+ Mid-level experience designing different type of structures (e.g. buildings, industrial and civil structures)

+ Experience in designing using concrete, steel masonry and timber structures

+ Seismic design and seismic assessment capability and experience to New Zealand standards

+ Competent user of ETABS for building design or similar 3d finite element analysis package

+ Competent user of SAP2000 for general purpose design of structures or similar 3d finite element analysis package

+ Active member of local engineering organizations (e.g. SESOC, NZSEE, ENZ, etc.)

+ Self-motivated with good communication skills
