Seequent (formerly ARANZ Geo) specialises in the interpretation and 3D visualisation of geoscience information using software modelling. From our desktop beginnings we are now well on the way to the cloud. It takes a special mix of people to make our cool and innovative software, and we are immensely proud of how far we have come.
We were founded by a bunch of mathematicians from the University of Canterbury, who developed fast algorithms to convert point clouds into triangular meshes using radial basis functions. And if that’s a bit technical, one of the first applications came in the form of a handheld scanner used to digitise models for “Lord of the Rings”.
It made sense for us to apply these algorithms to geoscience data and so Implicit Modelling was invented, completely changing the way geologists model. Our Leapfrog3D products (built for the desktop, enterprise, and increasingly the cloud) serve the mining, geothermal, civil and hydrogeology markets. They are a direct result of our amazing work culture, the warm, fun environment, and the contributions made by our multicultural, global workforce, with a passion for building great software.
We are looking for Summer Intern Software Engineers to fill a number of roles in our Christchurch R&D team, where you’ll work side by side with our professional software engineers and testers. These roles will run from November 2020 until February 2021. Applicants must be well advanced in study towards either an Engineering degree with focus on software, or a Computer Science degree.
