Te āhuatunga a te tūranga/About the Role

Te Kura Kaiwhakawā / Institute of Judicial Studies (“Te Kura”) based in the Supreme Court, Wellington, is the education arm of the judiciary, delivering programmes and seminars to support judges throughout their careers.

As the Support Services Coordinator, you will provide high-level executive support to the Director, Te Kura Board and other staff.  In addition, you will use your impressive diary management organisational skills to provide efficient and effective administrative secretarial support to the Director and other staff members.

Mō te tīma/About our Team

Te Tari Toko i te Tumu Whakawā / Office of the Chief Justice

is a business unit of the Ministry of Justice that supports the Chief Justice, President of the Court of Appeal and Chief Judge of the High Court, in their leadership and administrative responsibilities. The Office has oversight and responsibility for the resources required for the discharge of these responsibilities and it is a conduit through which judicial perspectives on the justice system can be coordinated and communicated.

With your demonstrated interpersonal skills and a strong attention to detail, you are confident working alone, as well as being part of a team, effectively prioritising your workflow.  You will be experienced in working in a fast-moving environment.

You must be resilient, forward thinking, highly organised, and able to remain calm under pressure, managing changing priorities with a positive and proactive approach.  A can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative will enable the Director to focus on their demanding role.  You would be the first point of contact for technical or other difficulties experienced by the staff in Te Kura.

Essential Skills

•              Diary management experience

•              Experience working in a fast-moving environment

•              Advanced ability with full MS Office suite of tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

•              Advanced level of proficiency in office procedures, business processes and database management, and the ability to adapt and learn new processes
