  • NIWA is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading environmental science research institute and the key provider of atmospheric, freshwater and marine research and applied science services in New Zealand.

    About the role:

    NIWA is currently recruiting an experienced Systems Administrator. This role ensures the financial systems operates smoothly by providing administration and support for Oracle, Unimarket & various system integrations.

    Using your technical knowledge (preferably using Oracle R12) you will be able to complete routine system administration and maintenance tasks such as processing day to day transactions including managing and resolving integration errors and executing month end close activities in accordance with monthly timetables.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Manage daily processing to ensure ongoing accuracy and timeliness.
  • Use daily processing data to resolve and predict potential problems and ensure the effects are eliminated or minimized.
  • Coordinate and execute month-end close in accordance with the timetable and in line with management’s expectations.
  • Complete daily and month end integration errors
  • Set up and maintain employee master data
  • Ensure employees have appropriate Oracle & Unimarket access
  • Provide users with an informed, knowledgeable and friendly support service.
  • Complete routine system administration and maintenance tasks.
  • Who are you?

    You’ll have experience processing sub-ledger postings and resolving system integration errors preferably using Oracle R12, experience with Unimarket would also be a plus.

    You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and maintain a high standard of service to staff. Excellent attention to detail, communication and prioritisation skills are a must.
