We’re looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to join our team in Auckland on a permanent basis.

About the role:

Working within a lean People team this is the ideal role for an experienced Internal Recruiter with a “can do” attitude. A key part of the value we add as a team is in partnering with the business – forming strong relationships with the business leaders, getting to know who they are, what they do and helping to support their talent management and workforce planning, so you can be well positioned to coach, advise and develop skills through a recruitment process and deliver the right outcomes for the organisation.

You will focus on all things recruitment from reactive to proactive recruitment including talent pipelining, talent attraction sourcing, really getting to know the business, and embracing innovation. We’re also an Accredited Employer so the sky’s the limit to attracting and welcoming global talent to the shores of New Zealand alongside campaigns for our offices around the world.

You will be equally comfortable moving between hands on recruitment delivery to talent specific projects. There will be lots of varied projects such as Employer Branding, Process reviews, Onboarding, Intern and Graduate Programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving the recruitment function at Orion, globally.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and liaising with hiring managers for requirement gathering regarding vacancies.
  • Coordinating interviews with relevant employees and complete reference checks.
  • Screening candidates to ensure cultural and team fit and make employment offers to successful candidates.
  • Advising and coaching managers to ensure best practises on recruitment processes and policies.
  • Ensuring feedback to candidates is provided in a timely manner.
  • Accurately preparing the required documentation for the hire of a candidate, i.e. offer letters and employment agreements.
  • Leading a small team, managing their day to day performance and removing any roadblocks for them to ensure they can successfully fill positions.
  • Constructing recruitment marketing campaigns and direct sourcing to identify suitable candidates. Investigating and ensuring we use a variety of sourcing avenues which may include traditional media of job boards, social media, and networking.

  • 5+ years of recruitment experience, preferably in the IT sector
  • Multinational experience for best practice practical approaches
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the IT industry, development languages and has advanced problem solving skills. 
  • Experience leading a team of up to 2 people
  • Ability to understand the business context and financial impact of such activities.
  • Good planning, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Consulting experience for best practice in recruitment
  • Proven ability to proactively source hard to find talent
  • High success percentage in talent placement
