The Treasury is the New Zealand Government’s lead economic and financial advisor. Our vision is to be a world-leading Treasury working towards higher living standards for New Zealanders.

As a Team Assistant (TA) it is your responsibility to provide exemplary administration, secretarial and coordination support to leaders and their teams to keep them running at full speed which allows them to fully focus on producing their outputs in order to achieve the Treasury’s desired outcomes. This role would suit a talented TA who has lots of initiative and the ability to work at pace and prioritise effectively.

We have two opportunities for Team Assistants to join us. In these roles, you will be able to handle instructions for processes not just tasks and make good judgement calls on what is required. You’ll be a TA who is ahead of the curve when it comes to modern processes and practices and you will have a great ability to keep your Managers across the variety of work that is happening. You’ll be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively as you will be called upon to assist with the wider business support network.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Email, inbox and diary management.
  • Coordinating meetings and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and updating reports, including document editing, formatting and printing.
  • Developing and drafting a range of correspondence.
  • Creating reports from databases.
  • Taking minutes and following through on actions.
  • Resource, finance (including invoice/payment), HR and travel administration.

About You:

  • Demonstrated administrative experience of at least two years.
  • Highly organised, efficient with an eye for detail.
  • A pro-active, can-do attitude who is looking to stretch their administrative capabilities.
  • The ability to multi task, re-prioritise and react to issues that arise during the day whilst keeping calm and professional.
  • A strong customer focus, excellent communication/interpersonal skills and you’re someone who enjoys building great relationships.
  • Excellent IT skills and an experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and a range of web tools.

We Can Offer:

  • Fantastic exposure to a central government agency with interesting and varied work.
  • The on-going support of a wider administration cohort.
  • A commitment to providing work and training opportunities that support your development.

The Treasury values diversity amongst its employees and encourages a positive work life balance. Please talk to us about flexible working arrangements.

If you are committed to delivering a high standard of administrative support, are continuously thinking how can do this better and are known for being one-step ahead then this is the opportunity for you.
