The Department of Conservation is the central government agency charged with managing New Zealand’s natural, historic and cultural heritage on behalf of all New Zealanders. DOC’s Information Systems and Services staff help design, deliver and support the technology needed to accomplish DOC’s ambitious goals.


The Role

As the Infrastructure Team Lead in Wellington, you will work as part of a dedicated team of professionals and play a key role in providing Infrastructure services across the DOC’s IT network. This is an opportunity for someone with working knowledge of IT infrastructure systems and would be an exciting next step in your career!


About You

This appointment requires a technically focused individual who also brings the interpersonal, communication and engagement skills effective in a changing, dynamic and diverse organisation. This role will also present the opportunity to step up into higher leadership positions as required.


Specific Skills:

  • Experience working in IT infrastructure systems
  • Experience as a subject matter expert (SME) for projects which have some infrastructure scope
  • Experience leading a team
  • Ability to developing interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on providing solutions
  • A sound understanding of vendor management, contract negotiation, incident management, Microsoft products, networking, cloud-based services, telephony and VHF Radio
