As a Team Lead R&D Operations for Enza Zaden you will ensure execution of crop management and breeding/seed extraction support together with the assigned team at our Research and Development station. You will oversee workers that will help care for the crops for the benefit of breeding programs. Responsible for leading, motivating and coaching the assigned team members. Weekly planning and allocation of activities, ensuring timely execution of activities, and striving towards continuous improvement. Participation in and executing all crop production, phytosanitary management, seed extraction, cleaning and/or breeding support activities. Ensure exchange of communication with Crop Workers. Analysis of processes and contribution to process optimization. Responsible for a healthy and safe working environment. May be responsible for ordering and/or stock management. Other duties as assigned. Your power You are a dynamic person who takes initiative, recognizes opportunities, and has a creative, analytical, and systematic method of working. You are a natural communicator and connector. You are research minded and interested in working in the seed sector. You are organized and follow safety procedures. You have a strong agriculture background, and has developed skills in planning, organization, and strong management skills. Relevant work experience. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Work on Saturdays and holidays, as necessary. A thorough understanding of English, both verbal and written is required. Must be able to operate and calibrate farm equipment, tractors, setup cultivators, irrigation systems and sprayers. Pesticide application license preferred or will need to obtain within 90 days of hire. Forklift certification preferred. Location and Remuneration The role is based in Pukekohe, New Zealand.
